Random Movie Review: A Good Day to Die Hard

Went to the movies today. I’m generally pretty aware of my American-ness here, but nothing makes me feel more American that a good, balls-out action flick. As such, I put on my American flag shirt (bought here, around the last 4th; flag shirts are fairly popular here) and set out.

Now, most epileptics know that they have to be a little watchful of Horror movies and Action flicks (and Anime) for the flashing light effects. I’m here to say that Die Hard 800 (isn’t that where we’re at now?) does pretty well. There are some flashy moments, there is certainly fire and gunshots and automatic gunfire, that rat-a-tat-tat that can make me twitchy at times, but none of it wonked me out.

Not something you get in most film reviews. Movies from an epileptic POV.

Outside of the soft-on-seizures point, GDtDH was pretty good. It’s no Oscar contender, and the Russian almost Cold War thing IS a little bullshit, but it’s fun. Things blow up. Scumbags get shot. You pretty much know everything that’s going to happen, but it was an enjoyable ride, none-the-less.
